Women's Fitness Hub: Workouts, Exercises & Diet Plans

This is the home of everything we offer for women: home and gym programs designed around the goals women ask about most — toned arms, a strong core, shapely legs and stronger, rounder glutes — plus meal plans, calculators and evidence-based articles.

Where should you start?

Use the plan builder to get your calorie and protein numbers plus a program recommendation.

Will lifting weights make me bulky?

This is the most common question we get, and the answer is no. Women have roughly 15–20 times less testosterone than men, which makes building large muscles a slow process even for women who train very hard for years. What strength training does is replace some fat with firm muscle, which creates the "toned" look most women want. It also raises your metabolism slightly and greatly improves bone density, which protects against osteoporosis later in life.

Building stronger glutes

The glutes respond best to a combination of exercises: hip thrusts and glute bridges (peak tension at the top), Romanian deadlifts (stretch under load), squats and lunges (deep hip flexion), and abduction work for the side of the hips. Train them 2–3 times per week with progressive overload, eat enough protein, and be patient: visible changes usually take 8–12 weeks. Read our full guide: best glute exercises for women.

Training around your menstrual cycle

Energy, strength and motivation can change across the menstrual cycle, and some women feel strongest in the first half of the cycle. Research on this topic is still developing and results vary a lot between individuals. The practical advice: keep training consistently, listen to your body, and on low-energy days simply reduce the weight or the number of sets instead of skipping the workout entirely.

Pregnancy and postpartum

Exercise is generally recommended during a healthy pregnancy, but every pregnancy is different. Always get approval from your doctor or midwife and follow their advice. After giving birth, get medical clearance before returning to training and consider a pelvic-floor physiotherapist, especially before heavy lifting or high-impact exercise.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best workout for women beginners?

A 3-day full-body routine. Start with our home or gym beginner plan.

How many days per week should I work out?

3–4 strength sessions per week is ideal for most people, plus daily walking. Beginners do great with 3 days.

How long does it take to see results?

Strength improves within 2–3 weeks. Visible body changes usually take 6–12 weeks of consistent training and nutrition.

Should I do cardio or weights?

Both. Weights build and keep muscle; cardio supports heart health and helps with fat loss. Our programs combine them.
